Have always considered Cobb as a natural progression in Amer humor from Twain. Like Twain he find humor in the everyday events. This book which makes fun of American (and Cobb's)dining habits is often laugh out loud funny and sharply humorous. It shows that when it comes to bellying up to the table we in the 21st century share the same indignities and silliness that Cobb did in the early 1900s. I first became acquainted with Cobb when I, as a 13 yr old, found a copy of his FIBBLE D D in a farmhouse bookcase. It quickly became one of my favorites and I have just recently re-read it for about the 15th time. I wish that Cobb would be rediscovered so we can all enjoy his humor and wit more easily.Product details

He writes in a very descriptive fashion, using words that are not cliche. Very refreshing and humorous. Also a good glimpse of history.
